Prof. Bamidele Victor OWOYELE is a Professor of Physiology with specialization in neuroscience, he is a member of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences and College of Health Sciences. He was a former Head of the Department of Physiology and the Immediate past Dean of the Postgraduate School of the University.

Prof. Owoyele specializes in modeling pain, inflammation and neuroinflammatory diseases. He is a member of many national and international societies. He is currently the president of three national societies which are Neuroscience Society of Nigeria (NSN), Society for the Study of Pain (SSPN), Nigeria, and Society for Experimental Biology of Nigeria (NISEB). He has won many grants from organizations such as the National Research Fund of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (NRF/TETfund), International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), The International Parkinson and Movement Disorders Society (MDS) and others. His Neuroscience laboratory is recognized as a training Centre by the MDS. He is open for collaborations.
