Maryam Tayo AYINLA, she is a Reader in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Ilorin with over 14 years University teaching, research, and administrative experience.

She served as Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator, Chairperson, Faculty Animal House Committee. Member, Faculty Admission Screening Committee and Handbook Committee. Academic Adviser for Physiology and Medical students (COBES). Currently, Acting Head of Department of Physiology. Her research interests are in the areas of Phytomedicine, Endocrinology and Neurophysiology. with focus on the use of plant extracts in the management of endocrine and neurodegenerative disorders.

She has published many articles in reputable outlets including journals, edited conference proceeding and chapters in books. She has supervised 6 Masters dissertations and 2 Ph.D. theses. She was a research fellow at Uka Tarsadia University, Bardoli, Gujarat, India. She has equally won the Institution Based Research grant. She belongs to many Professional Societies.
